Hi, my name is Dinesh Chandrasekhar I run product marketing for the data in motion product line at Cloudera.
Cloudera is an enterprise data cloud company offering an edge to cloud data platform that allows you to process any type of analytical workload across hybrid cloud, private cloud or public cloud.
What will you be discussing at the Developer Marketing Summit?
I'm going to talk about marketers perspective of what a developer program should be. I will also point out some of the key challenges that you will face when setting up a developer program, and will also highlight some of the key metrics that you can use to measure its success.
What nugget of wisdom are you hoping to share with the attendees?
I'm hoping they will walk away with a clear understanding of how developer marketing is distinctly different than traditional marketing.
I'm also hoping that they will have a clear understanding of the relevance of the different roles, such as developer evangelist DevRel, etc. And I also hope that they will recognize the different communication channels and techniques that you need in order to connect with the developer community.
Why is it important to shine the light on developer marketing?
There are more than 27 million developers in the world today, and this number is expected to grow up to 30 million in the next two or three years. While there is a large focus on visual tools and no code type of tools, there is a staggering amount of technical products out there in the market today.
And there is also the notion of open source innovations that are happening on a day by day basis. And in all this, the core persona that is being served up here are developers. So if you are not catering to the needs of the developers, you're missing out on a significant market opportunity for your products. And this is exactly why developer marketing is critical.
Which other sessions are you looking forward to at the Developer Marketing Summit?
Hmm all of them? Every session looks like there is something I can learn from so I am really looking forward to the summit!
