Awards | Articles | Product Marketing

And that’s a wrap!

Following an awesome response and hundreds of nominations, the Product Marketing Awards 2021 has reached its conclusion.

It was a feat in itself whittling down the nominations, putting together a shortlist, and selecting the lucky winners for each category.

So, without further ado, put your hands together for the victors of the Product Marketing Awards 2021!

Product Marketing Newcomer of the Year 2021

The winner of this year’s Product Marketing Newcomer of the Year is...

Amit Alagh, Senior Product Marketing Manager, LexisNexis

A former product manager, Amit transitioned into product marketing and is enjoying a role in which he can fuel his passion for marketing.

A product marketer with an exciting future ahead of him, here’s what he had to say upon receiving the award:

Positioning & Messaging Maestro of the Year 2021

Positioning and messaging are two core skills every product marketer has to nail to get the job done - and they’re not a piece of cake.

Our Positioning & Messaging Maestro Award 2021 recognized a PMM who has got the fine art of positioning and messaging down to a tee.

A huge congratulations to this year’s winner James Doman-Pipe, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Remote.

At his previous company, Headstart.io, James enhanced his positioning credentials whilst working on a repositioning project in which he saw a 50% increase in sales opps and a 120% increase in TOFU lead gen.

And that’s not all - he’s also worked in a consultancy role, supporting companies with their positioning and messaging strategies.

A worthy winner, we’re sure you’ll agree.

Congratulations James! Take it away…

Above & Beyond Award 2021

There are times when you’ve gotta go that extra mile to get the job done; some turn their nose up at the prospect, while others take it in their stride and do it with a smile on their face.

This award is for the latter - product marketers who happily push themselves further than required to deliver results.

This award is for the innovators, collaborators, the trailblazers.

This award is for Trevor Pyle, Director of Product Marketing at Quantum Metric.

A huge PMA congratulations to Trevor for scooping this awesome accolade!

Here are the Top Companies to Work in Product Marketing 2021:

5. Squadcast
4. UiPath
3. Avalara
2. Zuora

And coming in the top of the tree…

Unbounce 🎉

Rising Star - PMM MVP of the Year 2021

Product marketing is jam-packed with stellar practitioners making a name for themselves at their respective companies.

Whether they’re smashing their targets, performing passionately day in, day out, or inspiring those around them, they’re continuing to display admirable traits.

We decided to challenge ourselves and pick one person who has taken the product marketing world by storm.

We’re thrilled to announce that Alyce Erikson, Sr. Product Marketing Manager APAC, LinkedIn is the winner of the Rising Star - PMM MVP of the Year Award 2021.

And if the ringing endorsement from Geraldine Teo, Senior Field Marketing Manager, LinkedIn is anything to go by, we’ve made a stellar choice.

“Alyce approaches all situations with a data-driven, measured, and calm mindset. She is able to distill complex challenges into easy-to-understand areas of opportunity.”

Congratulations, Alyce!

Product Launch of the Year 2021

Make no mistake about it: orchestrating a product launch isn’t for the faint of heart.

From identifying your key personas, setting high yet achievable goals, to creating messaging that resonates with your audience, a lot goes into delivering a product launch that lives long in the memory.

This award category recognizes product marketers who’ve nailed every element of the product launch process and left no page unturned.

A huge congratulations to our deserved winner: Ryan Dillon-Curran, Senior Director, Head of Cardio Product Marketing at Peloton.

Ryan and his PMM colleagues at Peloton played a significant role in bringing the pioneering Peloton Bike+ to market in 2014, in turn, revolutionizing the face of at-home exercise.

Great work, Ryan!

Product Marketing Leader of the Year 2021

Q: What do you call a product marketing team without a leader?

A: Lost.

Every PMM team needs a leader who’ll grab the bull by the horns and lead by example. A leader who can inspire their colleagues, and drag their peers to success, even if the going gets tough.

The Product Marketing Leader of the Year award recognizes product marketers who strike the fine balance between managing their team and supporting the function.

And this year, the winner of this coveted award is Lisa Kant, VP of Product Marketing at Zendesk.

Lisa has played a significant role in Zendesk’s growth, gaining plenty of plaudits on the way - and deservedly so.

Having fought off stiff competition to land the award, here’s what Lisa had to say:

Product Marketing Team of the Year 2021

There’s no ‘I’ in ‘team’…

It may be one of the oldest cliches in the book, but wanna know why it rears its head time and time again?

Because it’s true - you need to collaborate with your colleagues to drive results, and product marketing doesn’t buck the trend.

Our final award of the year recognized a product marketing team whose relationships and unwavering commitment have prompted significant growth.

Congratulations to the Product Marketing Team of the Year 2021…

Gong 🎉

And there you have it! Our celebration of success has drawn to a close (until next year, at least!)

Thank you so much for casting your votes and playing your part in helping us bring the Product Marketing Awards 2021 to the masses - without you, this wouldn’t be possible.

See you in 2022.
